"My prayer is to have each and every one of us at Grace realize that we are called to fulfill the great commission"
Today Ron’s passion is seeing God use Grace Bible Church of Hollister and its people to reach the lost in our community. “My prayer is to have each and every one of us at Grace realize that we are called to fulfill the great commission and go make disciples wherever they may be and who every they are, and that we as a church would be devoted to the things that matter most.” Acts 2:42-47
Ron has a very special place in his heart for outreach and opportunities to impact the community and the world for Christ. He sees the local church as a place where families grow in Christ together and mature as believers who seek to minister to one another. Individually and as a family, the Firstbrooks have had the opportunity to be involved in local and international mission efforts and believe there is a special role for families. “It is my prayer that God will open doors for fathers and mothers to find a place to minister here at Grace and abroad, together with their children.”
Ron sees his role as an elder to encourage the full-time pastor-elders as they minister to our church and community. And, understanding the importance of accurately handling the Word of God, (Titus 1:9), he loves teaching and preaching through the Scriptures. “I have been blessed this past year teaching a series to the High School Sunday School class, and having the opportunity to share the gospel to kids through the Grace Kids for Christ events.
Ron enjoys spending time away from the kids with his wife Karen, but is quick to proclaim, “Karen and I love being parents!” Ron can also be found playing his guitar, exercising, playing games with kids and friends, (rumored to be the King of Catan), in his leisure time is a San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan and humbly admits, “use to be pretty good at golf.”
Ron and Karen have three children, Kelsey, Emily and Katie Mei.
