This year we are again joining the men from West Hills at the Koinonia Conference Grounds in Watsonville, CA. Be prepared to be challenged encouraged and refreshed in your relationship with Jesus Christ, all while having a fantastic weekend of fellowship with brothers in Christ.
This years theme is "Road Map to Biblical Manhood". Today it seems that the very definition of what it means to be a man, especially by the bible’s standards, is fading away. Should we give up, and accept the new roles that society defines for us? Put a smile on our face and live like nothing’s changed?
How does the Bible define being a man? How do I prepare myself to be a man by God’s standards in this world? More than ever, today’s church needs a clear picture of godly masculinity.
In 1 Kings 2:1-3, we have David’s final words to his son Solomon. It says, “As David’s time to die drew near, he charged Solomon his son, saying, I am going the way of all the earth. Be strong, therefore, and show yourself a man. Keep the charge of the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His ordinances, and His testimonies, according to what is written in the Law of Moses, that you may succeed in all that you do and wherever you turn.”
If we want to know what true masculinity is about, this passage provides us with a great foundation and abundant insight. Masculinity is given by God to men, and men must live it out Biblically rather than perverting it and redefining it in worldly, carnal, and selfish terms. As Paul said 1 Corinthians 16:13, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong”.
