They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Membership in the Local Church
Throughout the New Testament we see evidence of groups of Christians who belonged together in a defined manner such that new believers were added to their number, letters were addressed to them, erring members were removed from them and elders from town to town were appointed to them. Their membership was recorded and tracked.
Membership at Grace Bible Church is a commitment between redeemed sinners to help each other walk in obedience to the Lord in order to bring Him the most glory. We faithfully participate in the ministry life and services at Grace according to scriptural principles.
Members desire to delight in the glory of God, renew our minds and devote ourselves to growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (II Peter 3:18), submit to the Word of God; serve one another out of the gifts the Holy Spirit has given to each believer (I Peter 4:10), stimulate one another to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24), devote ourselves to prayer for one another (Acts2:42), edify one another with speech seasoned with grace, esteem and obey our leaders who will give an account to God (Hebrews 13:17), bear one another’s burdens and share one another’s joys, generously contribute to the support of the church and spread of the Gospel, and enjoy hospitality together.
This descriptive list is not exhaustive, but shows the aspirations of a lover of Christ and His people. As we serve through the exercise of our spiritual gifts, whether through leadership or providing direct service to the body of Christ, we fulfill the biblical command to love one another (1 John 3:11).
