Dear Grace Family,
It is becoming clear that as this trial continues and potentially lengthens for many weeks, some in our congregation will be greatly affected, while others because of their type or area of work, will be affected to a much lesser degree. There are many verses that guide our hearts and actions during times of need such as this. Paul said in his letter to the Romans, vs. 12:13 “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.”
To the Corinthians in his second letter, vss. 9:10-12, while encouraging generous giving, Paul emphasizes not only God’s provision to us to be givers but the promise he will multiply the provision and the harvest, “He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.”
He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
To help steer the gifts of the Saints and encourage the setting aside of a special provision for the need, we are beginning the COVID-19 Benevolence Fund.
Would you consider giving toward the need at this time? Funds from the Federal Government may be an unneeded windfall to you, while meeting serious needs of others. In fact Paul described such circumstances this way in 2 Corinthians 8:13-15, “For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened, but that as a matter of fairness your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness. As it is written, “Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack.”
Join with us in praying for all those suffering during the COVID-19 outbreak, and for God’s provision and direction how we can help ease those sufferings. May the Lord bless you and your family with his protection and grace.
You may give conveniently online by clicking on the Give Online link below or using the Pushpay App. Be sure to select “COVID-19 Benevolence” for the type of giving. You may also mail your checks to Grace Bible Church, 634 Monterey St., Hollister, CA 95023, being sure to indicate “COVID-19 Benevolence” for where you would like your gift to be used.
Blessings in Christ,
The Elders and Deacons of Grace
