“you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
– Acts 1:6
God’s command is clear – His glory and His name are to be made known
Missions are given to the church that we may be part of His sovereign plan to proclaim His glory! Grace Bible Church of Hollister is committed to the preaching of the gospel with the belief that God will save lives for His glory. Grace Bible Church is committed to the discipling process in order that those who God saves may progress in their sanctification for the purpose of God’s ultimate glory. Grace Bible Church is committed to the training of the young and old in Christ for preparation of sharing God’s glory to every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. And we are committed to the giving of finances, time and effort for God’s glory to be proclaimed to all nations.
God clearly desires His glory to be proclaimed to the world, God has unlimited resources to reach the world, and God channels these resources through His people. It is our desire to be faithful to the Lord’s Great Commission, (Matthew 28:16), and participate in the work of discipling all nations, and seek to spread His glory.
We seek to train, support and send our own people to the mission field (Romans 10:15), as well as missionaries from other ministries where missional partnering compounds opportunities for reaching a lost and dying world for the glory of Christ.
Our ultimate goal is to see the Lord glorified as individuals come to know the joy of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is in fulfillment of the Lord’s commands that we commit our personal service, prayer, and financial support to this crucial task.
We understand the focus of missions to be multi-fold:
- Proclaim the authority and glory of Christ alone.
- Train leaders who make disciples through the whole counsel of God, thus equipping them for the continued work of the Gospel.
- Do the work of evangelism, which leads people to publicly identify themselves as followers of Jesus Christ.
- Send qualified people who hold to the glory of Christ and His all sufficient Word.
- Send workers who grasp the central truth that Christ is with them.
We place a high value on the missionary who trains faithful men and who will continue to train others (2 Timothy 2:1-2). The benefit is Biblical multiplication, the promotion of sound doctrine within the ministry, and the fulfillment of the Lord’s instruction concerning the work of the church and her leaders.
We are also committed to sending our own teachers to aid in the formation of national workers. We believe those who live and understand a culture are best able to communicate the Gospel to that culture, so we look for opportunities to train and support national workers, the national has a great advantage for the work of the Kingdom of God.
