Grace Bible Church of Hollister

Baptism Service May 6

Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit as a public profession of faith and identification with Christ. It is a visual depiction of the immersion in Christ which took place at the moment of the believer’s salvation.

It is one of the two ordinances (baptism and the Lord’s Supper) that are symbols that represent and picture the benefits and blessings of the New Covenant.

The Lord Jesus Christ committed these two ordinances to the local church to be observed and administered until His return. And, while commanded by the Lord, neither imparts salvation. Our salvation is based solely on our faith in the completed redeeming work of Jesus Christ. Baptism is our public proclamation and testimony of our faith in Christ and His saving work in our lives.

At Grace, the baptism service is a time of great celebration and joy for the whole congregation as we witness the testimony of those who have passed from death to eternal life. If you would like to be baptized or would like to know more, please contact the church office by calling (831) 638-1394 or e-mail us.
